Claim, release or reassign a task
Before you start
Some tasks are sent to a group, such as everyone in Purchasing, and any member can take them. Claim a task to say “this one is mine”, so two people don’t work it at once. Release it if you can’t finish. Reassign it to move it to someone else.
Claim a task
Section titled “Claim a task”Group tasks show the group’s name with a group icon under Assigned to, and a Claim button on the row.
- Click Tasks in the top bar.
- Find the task assigned to a group.
- Click Claim. Beezr says Task claimed.
The row now shows Claimed by you with a lock. Anyone else in the group sees Claimed by and your name, so they know who holds it.
If someone claimed it first, Beezr says This task was already claimed by and their name, and refreshes the list.
Release a task
Section titled “Release a task”Open the three dots on a row you claimed and choose Release. Beezr says Task released, and the task is open to the group again. Release appears only on group tasks you hold.
Reassign a task
Section titled “Reassign a task”- Click the three dots at the end of the task’s row.
- Choose Reassign…. The Reassign task window opens.
- Type in Search users and click the person’s name.
- Click Reassign.
Beezr says Task reassigned to and the person’s name. The task leaves your list and lands in theirs.
You can reassign any task that is still open, including your own.
What if a colleague holds the task?
Section titled “What if a colleague holds the task?”A task a colleague claimed shows Claimed by and their name. Ask them to Release it, or ask your administrator. A task assigned to you personally is already yours, so it has no Claim button.
