Edit a record
Before you start
Edit a record when something about it changes: a new delivery date, a corrected amount, a different owner. You can edit from the record’s page, or make a quick change straight from a list.
Edit from the record page
Section titled “Edit from the record page”- Open the record.
- Click Edit at the top right of the header.
- Change the fields. The page is titled Edit and the module’s name.
- Click Save.
The form is the same one used to add a record, with the current values filled in. The checks are the same too: required fields, and any rules your administrator set. Add a record describes them. After a successful save, Beezr opens the record page again.
Cancel leaves without saving. It takes you back to the module’s list, or to the record you came from when the form was opened from a related record.
Make a quick edit
Section titled “Make a quick edit”A quick edit is a small form that opens over the list, so you do not lose your place.
- In a list, click the pencil at the start of the row. On a Kanban board, click the pencil on the card.
- In the Quick edit panel, change the fields.
- Click Save. The list refreshes with your change.
On a record’s related tab, clicking a row opens a side panel instead. See Add and open related records.
In a spreadsheet view, you edit a cell directly. See Switch between views.
What decides what I can edit?
Section titled “What decides what I can edit?”- Edit and the pencil appear when your role allows editing records of this module. If you need that, ask your administrator.
- Some fields are filled in by Beezr, such as the date a record was created, or calculated from other fields. Your administrator sets which fields people type in.
- You want to change the record’s status but there is no field for it. In many apps, the status changes through an action button or an approval, not by editing. Look for a button in the record header.
Can I undo a change?
Section titled “Can I undo a change?”To put an old value back, edit the record again. In a spreadsheet view, Ctrl + Z undoes a cell change.
