Working in Arabic

Concept6 minFoundation

Before you start

Beezr works in English and Arabic. Language is a setting on your account, not on the workspace, so one colleague can read Arabic while the person next to her reads English, on the same records. This page explains how to use that setting.

Two things change together when you pick العربية in your profile. The words change, and the layout flips right to left. The left rail moves to the right, text lines up on the right, and buttons run in the opposite order. The shell that holds every screen follows this, as do the Task Space and the notification panel.

  1. Pick العربية in profile
  2. Layout turns right to left
  3. Built-in words in Arabic
  4. Workspace labels in Arabic

Your choice is stored on your account. Switch back to English the same way, and the layout flips back. To switch, see Change your language or password.

Two places.

Beezr’s own words are translated by Beezr: buttons such as Approve and Claim, the Task Space heading and its counters, the bell, the top bar.

Your workspace’s words are translated by your administrator. The names of menu groups, modules, fields and tabs are written by whoever built the app. Each one has an English name and, if the builder added it under Labels, an Arabic name. Until the Arabic name is added, Beezr shows the English one, as with the group names such as Vendors Base in the menu above.

  • Your data. What people type into a record stays as typed, in whatever language. Beezr never translates it.
  • Numbers. They appear in the digits 0 to 9 in both languages.

Where does a public form get its language?

Section titled “Where does a public form get its language?”

From its link. People who fill in a public form don’t have an account, so the link carries the language, English or Arabic, and the person who shares the form chooses it. See Fill in a public form.

The phone layout follows the same language setting. See Beezr on your phone.

Layla switches to Arabic and sees a menu group still named in English. What is the most likely reason?
Show the answer

Nobody has translated that name in the workspace's labels yet. Words that builders named, such as menu groups and fields, show in Arabic only after someone adds the Arabic text under Labels. Until then, the English shows.

Omar types a vendor name in English into a record while his account is set to Arabic. What does Beezr do with it?
Show the answer

Keeps it exactly as typed. Beezr changes the interface language, never your data. What people type is stored and shown as typed.
