A workflowWorkflowAn automation: trigger plus steps, run per module; also called "flow" on the home page.Open glossary ↗ is a trigger followed by steps. This page lists the 16 steps the designer offers, so you can pick the right one before you open its page.

  1. Open the workflow in the designer.
  2. Click + on a line, or on an End marker, where the step should go. On an empty workflow, click All steps.
  3. Type in Search steps, or scroll to the group you want, and choose the step.
  4. Click the new step. Its settings open on the right.
The step picker open on the line under the trigger, with a search box and the steps listed by group.
Click + on a line to insert a step there.
Search steps filters the list as you type.
Integration comes with the Integration hub add-on.

Settings are saved with the workflow, so click Save when you finish. Check lists problems before you do.

The picker has five groups, in this order.

Integration and Web agent appear in the picker only when your workspace has those add-ons. Use saved connections for external services: see Connect services with Integration steps.

Most steps run and hand over straight away. Three hold the run:

StepWhat happens
WaitThe run sleeps for the time you set
Approval taskThe run stops until someone decides, then continues on Approved or Rejected
Web agentThe run stops until the browser job finishes
