Before you start

The Data views page decides how people browse a moduleModuleA table of business data (for example Customers) with fields, forms, views and automation.Open glossary ↗’s records in App space: as a table, a board, a calendar, a grid you can edit, cards or a list. Open it from Modules by choosing a module, then Dataviews in the top bar. The page title is Data views, and the sentence under it reads “Choose how people browse Contracts in the app.”

The Data views page for the Contracts module: six view tabs, the Table switch, the column list and a live preview of six contracts.
Each tab is one view. The line under its name says Opens first, On, Off or Needs setup.
Show the table view is the switch for the whole view. Each tab has its own.
The settings sit on the left. The count next to Columns is the number of columns in the table.
The Preview shows your own records, as the app will show them.
The desktop and phone buttons change the size of the preview.
Save writes the settings for all six views at once.

Each view is a tab. You can switch any of them on or off, and people choose between the ones that are on.

People switch between the views that are on from the records page. In App space the tabs read Tabular, Kanban Board, Schedule, Spreadsheet, Cards and List.

Under each tab name you see one of four words.

StatusMeaning
Opens firstThis view is on and people land on it
OnThe view is on, and people can switch to it
OffPeople do not see it
Needs setupIt is on, but something is missing, such as the field to group a Kanban board by

The Table opens first until you pick another view to open first. The Spreadsheet, Kanban, Cards and List tabs each have an Open this view first switch. Turning one on turns the others off, so one view opens first. People switch to the Schedule from the records page.

Your settings are kept. When you turn the view back on, the columns, fields and colours are still there. The tab then shows a notice such as “The table view is off”, and people use the views that are on. Keep at least one view on.

Click Save, or press Ctrl + S. A Data views saved message confirms it. Next to Save you see All changes saved, or Unsaved changes while something is waiting. If you leave the page with unsaved changes, the browser asks first.

Before you save, finish each view that is on. If one needs more, Beezr tells you the first thing to add, for example “Choose what to group cards by”, and opens that tab. Add at least one column to the Table.

After deleting a field, use Remove it on its column, then click Save.

A module whose records people can browse the way that suits them. Every tab keeps its own settings, so you can set up one view at a time and save between them.
