Create an application
Before you start
Create an application so people have a menu to open in App space. Beezr gives you three ways to begin. Pick by what you already have: a spreadsheet, a ready-made template, or nothing yet.
Choose a starting path
Section titled “Choose a starting path”- In the left rail, click New application. The Create New Application page opens with three cards.
- Click the card that fits.
| Card | Choose it when | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Start from a Spreadsheet | You have your data in an .xlsx workbook | A wizard builds modules, forms, tables and the application. See Build an app from a spreadsheet |
| Start from a Template | A ready-made app is close to what you need | You browse the Templates Center and install one. See Install a template |
| Start from Blank | You are designing the data yourself | The App builder opens, empty |
Build a blank application
Section titled “Build a blank application”This path opens the App builder, where you can create modules as you go.
- Click Start from Blank. The App builder opens with the title New application.
- Type a Name, for example
Equipment requests. This is the only required field. - Click Add first group and type a group name, for example
Requests. Press Enter. - In the module list that opens, tick the modules to show under the group. If the module does not exist yet, click Create module.
- Click Done to close the list.
- Turn on Default app if people should land here first.
- Click Save.
Beezr returns to My applications and shows “{name} saved” at the bottom of the screen. The new application is active and ready to open.
If you left a group empty, Beezr leaves it out when it saves and says so in the same message.
What if I do not have any modules yet?
Section titled “What if I do not have any modules yet?”Create them from the group’s module list with Create module. Beezr asks for a name and adds the new module to the group when you click Create and add. The details of that drawer are in The App builder. Or create modules first on the Modules page.
What did I get?
Section titled “What did I get?”An application with a name, a menu and the modules you chose. Open it from its card on My applications to see how it looks in App space. Next, organise the menu with groups.
