Read and clear your notifications

How-to3 minFoundation

Before you start

A notification tells you something needs you: a task was assigned, or a record you follow changed. The bell in the top bar shows a red dot while you have unread ones. Open it, click one to go straight to the item, and clear the rest.

  1. Click the bell in the top bar. On a phone, tap the bell in the header.
  2. Read the list. Each entry has a title, a short description and the time it was added.
  3. Click the notification you want.

Beezr loads your unread notifications, when you open the bell. An unread one shows a bell icon. When the list is empty, the panel says there are no new notifications.

Beezr marks the notification as read, then opens the item behind it:

The notification is aboutYou land on
A taskThe record the task belongs to, ready to approve or reject. For some tasks, the edit form instead
Anything elseThe record’s page

If a notification leads somewhere you did not expect, ask your administrator.

Click Mark all as read at the top of the panel. On a phone it is Mark all read. The red dot goes away, and the entries show as read.

Read notifications don’t come back the next time you open the bell, because the panel lists only unread ones.

Beezr checks when you sign in and again each time you open the bell. If there are more than before, it also shows a short message, New Notification, saying how many are new. A notification that arrives while a page is open shows up the next time you open the bell.

Check yourself

Layla clicks a notification about a new task. Where does she land?
Show the answer

On the record the task belongs to, ready to decide. A task notification opens the record the task is about. Beezr also marks that notification as read.

Omar clicks Mark all as read. What happens to the bell's red dot?
Show the answer

It goes away, because nothing is unread. Marking everything as read clears the unread state, so the dot disappears.
